I’ve never aimed to post every day so none of my blogs were intended to be a daily journal of my life. In fact, reading other bloggers and perhaps (usually) commenting on them was always more important to me.
Maintaining three WordPress blogs

The little Sony delivers amazing quality for its size, acquired mainly for ‘blipfoto’, with one of my favourite classic camera marques but with the tools of my first love
For those of you who do not know, at one time I maintained three personal blogs: this one, one for my interest in photography (particularly about classic cameras and film photography) and an ‘alternative’ site for the village in which I live.
Having decided some time ago not to maintain posting on the village blog and circumstances dictating rare posting on the photography blog, coupled with missing some bloggers I used to enjoy a lot, today I decided to see what the situation with the bloggers I ‘follow’ is.
Missing ‘followed’ bloggers
49 have not posted for 2 years or more. I wonder what happened to them. There was not a final post saying “I’m stopping posting on the blog, because ….”, as far as I know, not one; of course I did do a ‘final’ post on the village site announcing my intention to stop posting and giving the reasons.
So most of those I followed who have not posted for two years I have now ‘unfollowed’ but a few I particularly liked I’ve continued to follow in the hope they may reappear.
For myself, my first love being writing, I’ll continue to post on this blog, which is more suitable for longer posts, including those about my short stories or ‘poems’.
But, more suitable for a photo with a short text, or even no text, blipfoto has a wonderful supportive community and having met a challenge from a blogger friend, to reach 300 ‘blips’ by Christmas Day, I’m going to make a big effort to ‘blip’ more frequently – my target is at least once a week.
And, I might just try to post now and then on my photo blog – grumpytykepix – particularly as I’ll now allow more digital pix among any on film which I’m now able to do.

I’ve lost lots of blog chums over the past five years, it gets tough to keep in touch with everyone when I get very busy and as in real life if your don’t nurture relationships they drift away 🙋🏼♀️

That’s true. There Is a small number of bloggers who have become friends and with them I began to communicate more personally than I was comfortable to do in blog comments, so when they stopped blogging for whatever reason we have stayed in touch.

The easiest way to find out is a comment “Hi, I hope everything is ok with you! I loved your blog”! 🙂 I even can’t remember my first blogs name… maybe it was “Lizbete” (from Keeping up appearances!), then ilznelle, then laukumeitene.lv then this… a day in the life of a latvian mom… I’m changing so does my blogs 🙂 I still have high stat in laukumeitene.lv but I’m not posting for more than 2 years…. maybe one day!

I have a similar experience with my village blog; although I haven’t posted on it for months and the ultimate one said I would not be posting or updating, people are still signing up to follow and putting likes, even comments, on old posts.
In fact, for me being able to reduce the number I follow from this blog was good as it has made it quicker for me to identify those I wish to read and put a ‘like’ (which I now do only if I genuinely like it, not just an indicator that I’ve seen it.)

I have been posting much less often in the last four years due the primary subject of my blog having changed in real life. My kids have mostly met their transition goals and now are moving on with their lives. That, combined with my husband’s health issues, has resulted in fewer posts. But I’ve noticed a lot of people I used to follow are gone as well.

Yes, health is a big factor (in my case my health resulting in long gaps). I hope that this isn’t the reason so many of mine have ‘disappeared’.

We, as people who upload views and considerations, have momentum moments. But….also we have many interests and work from dynamic to dynamic. You and I and others talk about so many subjects that we are spasmodic and fragmented. But our intent is not reduced in intensity. But focused on the given moments in time. Travel, music, VW bus, cookery, writing, poetry, photography, etc. ……we carry inherently day to day without tippy tapping the keypad to express. Does not diminish thought processes. We are still individualists in our expressions and interests. You know exactly what we’re all about. Write a book………it still wouldn’t give our total life’s processes and contributions.

Thanks Eddy, and good luck to you too. I know many people have missed your posts, as have I.
