As I posted some time ago I do not any more consider the ‘haiku’ or ‘tanka’ I write to be haiku or tanka, in fact I do not consider any written in anything other than Japanese to be haiku or tanka. This particularly so for what I call ‘picture haiku’: the words and the picture come almost simultaneously. But it’s convenient to refer to them as such.
